Eggwich - Egg, Ham, Cheese on a bagel!

Growing up, my sister and I used to regularly go to a local bagel shop that made the best breakfast sandwiches. Walking in the door brought on the most amazing smells of freshly baking bagels mixed with hints of ham, bacon, and cheeses. Our favorite meal to order was the Ham and Cheese Eggwich. It was magical the way the egg would get fluffly and the cheese would melt. I didn't understand back then how they were able to form this favorite breakfast delight.

Taco Braid!

My husband and I are both fans of anything taco, so when I shared this treat with him he was ecstatic. It starts out like any good taco-making session should: brown up some ground beef and mix with a little water and taco seasoning. Then it takes a turn for the awesome by combining onions, tomatoes, and mushrooms with the taco meat before wrapping it in crescent rolls and baking it in the oven. There is nothing quite like biting into this flaky taco braid meal!

Mini Food, Big Taste - Dessert in a Cup (Post 4 of 4)

Finally, what would a night of appetizers be without a little dessert to finish it off? After polishing off the mini burgers, fries in a shot glass, and pigs in a blanket, it was time for a little dessert snack: hot chocolate and donuts!

Ingredients:
1 envelope hot chocolate mix
6 oz water
1 package small cake donuts or donut holes
Bailey's (optional)
Pepperidge Farm Pirouettes (optional)

Mini Food, Big Taste - Veggies and Dip (Post 3 of 4)

With every party, there should be options for healthy snacks. That's where this mini-treat comes in handy and you won't believe how easy it is to do!  Just gather up your favorite vegetables, some dip, and short shot glasses.

Mini Food, Big Taste - Pigs in a Blanket (Post 2 of 4)

Of course, there were so many options for mini foods, so I couldn't just stop at hamburgers and fries. That same night I decided I would also serve mini pigs in a blanket to my guests! So many mini foods, so little time.

Mini Food, Big Taste - Burgers and Fries! (Post 1 of 4)

Mini food is apparently all the rage, so I decided to try my hand at arranging mini appetizers for the pleasure of my guests. My first stop was to Kohls where I picked up a set of white espresso cups with matching saucers.  They are absolutely adorable!

Mediterranean Style Egg's Benedict

My husband and I were away for the weekend attending his cousin's wedding. We spent the weekend in this delightfully lavish hotel that was very modern chic. Nearby was a quaint little chain restaurant called "The Village Inn." With similar breakfast choices to Perkins but a higher food quality, we decided to go there for breakfast both mornings we were in town. Glad we did!

Best Darned Cake Ever! (if you like chocolate, caramel, & cream cheese frosting)

I am always trying out new recipes and experimenting with them until I've found something I really enjoy. Every once in a while, I even stumble across something particularly awesome.  Our new favorite cake consists of Devil's food cake, caramel, hot fudge, toffee pieces, and homemade cream cheese frosting! It is a delightfully decadent cake for all to enjoy!

Swedish Meatballs (courtesy of my mother-in-law!)

The other night my husband requested one of his old favorites: Swedish meatballs and spaetzle. I have never made meatballs of any kind, so I was excited at the challenge of a new food. It was just cold enough that the idea of Swedish Meatballs sounded really good. Thus, I called up my mother-in-law, who was in possession of my hubbie's favorite recipe, and now I shall share it with you!

Easy Chicken, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy!

Fall has hit, the leaves are turning colors, and the temperature has dropped. It's my favorite time of year! Growing up my ultime favorite meal was chicken, mashed potatoes, and gravy. My mom had a quick and easy recipe that is very Minnesota.

On those cold days when you want a home-cooked meal, but you don't want to put forth too much effort, here's a simple way to make a delicious meal.
